About ThePulse

Honest tech buying guides for Indian homes

Our Mission

ThePulse helps Indian families choose the right home technology without the marketing fluff. We focus on the appliances and devices that genuinely change how a household functions — air purifiers, water purifiers, smart home gear, kitchen appliances, robot vacuums, climate control, and the small daily-life gadgets that make Indian homes work better.

Most product blogs in India simply rewrite Amazon listings or copy press releases. We do not. Every recommendation we publish is researched against multiple sources, cross-referenced with real Indian user reviews, and filtered through the lens of what actually matters for Indian homes — hard water, voltage fluctuations, monsoon humidity, urban pollution, and the realities of Indian apartment living.

What We Cover

We focus on six core categories. Air and Water — air purifiers, water purifiers, RO and UV systems, humidifiers, dehumidifiers. Kitchen — microwaves, induction cooktops, OTGs, air fryers, mixer grinders, dishwashers, chimneys. Smart Home — smart switches, security cameras, video doorbells, smart locks, voice assistants. Cleaning — robot vacuums, wet and dry vacuums, robotic mops. Climate Control — air conditioners, coolers, geysers, heaters, fans. Buying Guides — direct comparisons, "should you buy" articles, and category overviews that help you decide between options.

We do not cover phones, laptops, headphones, fashion, travel, or general lifestyle. Those niches are well-served by specialised publications. We do one thing — home technology — and we aim to be the best resource for it in India.

Why Indian Households Specifically

Indian homes have unique technology needs that global product reviews rarely address. Mumbai humidity destroys electronics differently than San Francisco does. Delhi air pollution requires different filtration than Tokyo smog. Bangalore hard water clogs RO membranes faster than European tap water ever would. Indian voltage fluctuations damage appliances in ways that products designed for stable European grids cannot handle.

Tier-1 city apartment sizes differ from American suburban homes. Indian cooking generates more smoke than Western cuisine. Indian families typically have larger households with multiple generations under one roof. Every one of these factors changes which products are right for an Indian home. We write specifically for these conditions.

Editorial Standards

Every product recommendation we make is based on technical specifications cross-referenced across multiple sources, customer review patterns from actual Indian buyers on Amazon India and Flipkart, manufacturer documentation, and where applicable, expert testimony from category specialists. We disclose every limitation we are aware of. We will tell you when a product is overhyped, when a cheaper alternative is actually better, and when you should simply not buy a category of product yet because it is not yet mature enough for Indian conditions.

We do not accept payment to publish positive reviews. Where we link to retailers as part of our buying guides, we earn a small commission if you purchase. This commission does not affect what we recommend. Our editorial choices remain independent of any commercial relationship.

How We Make Money

ThePulse is supported by display advertising through Google AdSense and affiliate commissions through Amazon Associates programs in India, the UAE, and globally. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This funding model allows us to keep all content free and accessible without paywalls or subscription requirements.

Affiliate income never determines our recommendations. We have recommended products that pay us very low commission rates simply because they are the right product for the reader. We have also recommended that readers skip categories entirely when no product is genuinely worth buying.

Who Writes for ThePulse

ThePulse Editorial is a small team of writers and researchers focused on Indian home technology. Our writers have backgrounds in technology journalism, product testing, and consumer advisory. We do not use AI tools as a substitute for human research and editorial judgment — every published recommendation reflects deliberate human assessment of what is true and useful for Indian readers.
